Autumn weather, autumn mood

Autumn – this feeling when the sun took a step back, the leaves covered the ground and the trees show us how lovely it can be to let things go.

For me personally autumn is a little bit of a sad season, moreover now that we are at home in a lockdown (again). But I see it as a necessary transition period leading to the festive December.

But no matter how sad and cold the weather outside is, the nature colors revive – yellow, orange, saturated green, dark violet and red, brown, etc. And the autumn trends always follow those colors and so do I. I like violet, burgundy and all combinations in this palette.

My outfit today is a cosy, casual one – a „fashion“ shirt with jeans, a sleeveless red jacket and matching sneakers.

Dressing room in a fashionway

I have always dreamed of a dedicated dressing room space and now, in our new house, it is slowly becoming a reality. I decided to have the furniture in a modern white finish, which I find perfect for storing clothes and accessories – towers with shelves, hang areas, drawers, open shelving as well as shoe and bag shelving. It is still a work in progress, so follow my posts for updates…

Once everything is installed, I am going to work on filling my room – shoes and folded items, like sweaters and jeans stored in the open shelving, long dresses and pants I will
place on the hanging rod; and my most frequently used fall-winter outwear I will move to the center of my closet for quick and easy access.

The all-so-needed black-and-white dog-tooth armchair is already in place. At the end I’ll put the finishing touches on my new space by adding a nice white bench, a rug, and some cute decorations amidst my accessories, in a fashionway.

Fall-winter time – sweater time

It’s that perfect time of the year when it’s brisk enough to pull out a sweater while at the same time not too cold so that you have to hide it under a million layers. Being an oversized sweater lover I go for it pretty often and especially on this occasion in one of my favourite colors – pale pink, which also happens to be very trendy as of late.

So, grab your turtlenecks, mock necks, v-necks, crewnecks, cable knits and more and make your outfit. I match mine with a faux fur cardigan – I’m in love with the cute light pink jacket that i found in Colloseum – i think i can never have enough of those.

It’s very easy to pair every sweater with jeans but in this case I went for leggings in Bordeaux red.

Some of my best sweater accessories are the scarfs – I think they are always a great addition and make an outfit complete. I rarely leave the house in the fall or winter without some kind of scarf – it really goes a long way in pulling your look together, but if you find that your outfits are often lacking that “something special” I would recommend investing in a few scarves! Here my choice for it is a snake printed one, also pretty trendy now.

I finish my outfit’s go-to combination with black overknee boots and cute Monki bag, of course, in a fashion way.

Adding some leopard pattern

Never thought I’d see the day when I would reach for leopard prints, but these shoes are so comfortable and cute, that I couldn’t resist.

I thought it’s fun to add some trendy prints to the accessories, especially when the rest of the outfit is more neutral. There are many different kinds or boots, high heels or sneakers with similar prints, but I like this one which makes the figure elegant and gracious, just like the walk of a real leopard.

To highlight the shoes in this outfit I chose a black tunic from one of my favourite brands and transparent Calzedonia leggings, which I find to be a great combination. I match them, of course, with one of my this season best-loved teddy cosy coats – this time in beige.

Something checkered – yes, of course!

Checkered pants or leggings – I’m going for both . They are just beautiful and almost everyone is wearing them because they have this chic vibe to them. French style mixed with retro, they are like this fashion challenge everyone’s doing, wearing them to fit their own looks. Some girls wear them with sneakers, some go for heels; some wear them relaxed and chic, while others go for sleek office formal styles.

I like wearing them on different occasions, but today I am going in a city street style and match my checkered Calzedonia leggings with a simple black shirt, accessories and once again one of my favorite teddy coats – the one in yellow.

For achieving a classic look with such kind of pants, grab a basic shirt or singlet out from the back of your wardrobe and pair it with them. White, grey, naxy, black and tan tops are also great options, matched in a fashion way.

How to wear a rust colored sweater

Today I made my look with one of my favourite sweaters in rust color, because it’s very popular this season. This color is one of the trendiest colors in the fall/winter 2019. If such a sweater doesn’t work for you, you should be able to find something similar in that color, in a cut or fit that works better for you. Now, onto the outfit!

I love how this type of sweater looks against black faux leather leggings!

Faux leather leggings are back for the fall in new on-trend colors and prints and they
continue to be a wardrobe essential. They manage to imitate the look and feel of real leather very well and are making life a lot easier being so comfortable and versatile. I like to wear leggings with tops that are longer – relaxed sweaters like this one are just perfect.

Meanwhile this sweater would go very well also with black or blue skinny jeans.

To make the outfit really pop, I also went for black accessories – a black Victoria Secrets bag and a Gucci belt. To finish I added my comfy Zara black block heels booties.

This look would of course also work with any of these trendy colors for the sweater – mustard, olive, mocha, grey, and a happy yellow. Try it in a fashion way!

Life is better in sneakers

Out of all my fashion struggles, I think shoes are by far the most challenging for me. Most of my time I wear casual or elegant shoes and rarely put on stretchy flats or sneakers, unless I’m exercising of course. That is because I think sport shoes do not emphasise a woman’s femininity. But if chosen right you could match them pretty well.

Moreover the current fashion trends allow for breaking of stereotypes – ugly, chunky, plateau-sneakers find their way into many outfits. Although a bit rough, i got to like them, although i would prefer the flat converse-type and sock sneakers more.

My outfit today is street style – a favourite t-shirt of mine with the logo „Life is better in sneakers“, skinny jeans and of course the sneakers. Those sneakers actually have a story by themselves – produced by the Giuliano Gudman designer, they are a unique piece.

Casual glam with guacamole green

There are two shades of green trending in this Fall 2019’s fashion colors, very different from each other – guacamole and eden. Guacamole is my favorite and it is considered one of the „Classics“ this season, being called „nutrient-enriched“ green. Eden on the other hand is a forest green.

Moreover, guacamole green is great if you wish to be bold on color this season because it’s tasteful, soul-calming and very refreshing. It’s somehow intriguing and untypical. Certainly a color to make you stand out.

I found my best matching part for outfits at CALZEDONIA – a pair of glam leggings. And as I currently tend to stick to the oversized sweaters and blousons here I combine it with a long yellow one from Pimkie. Here I find the black accessories a perfekt match – they include shoes by Zara and a Tally WEiJL belly bag. Meanwhile the belly bags are not only in trend byt they are also comfortable and can be eye-catching in a fashionway.

Sugar almond over-the-knee boots – sexy, classy, elegant and stylish

There is no doubt – over-the-knee boots are always desired and if they are worn properly they could be even more interesting than they look. The most important thing to consider when wearing this kind of boots is choosing minimalistic outfits – this always leads to the coolest looks.

In this case simplicity is the better choice when matching the clothes. A short dress, a tunic, a long blazer or a blouse/sweater with a short skirt are always a great match. One of my favorite combinations when going casual is with a long oversized sweater. Oversized und baggy tops are the perfect go – tight-fitting tops don’t look as fashionable with high boots. Also, avoid wearing over-the-knee boots with leather, deep décolleté, or leopard prints. Instead, you should pair them with clothing that is covered up at least one way, such as turtleneck sweaters, maxi hemlines or a coat to top off your look.

As for color, black over-the-knee boots are beautiful and elegant. They complement any other color of the dress. But gray and brown high boots are also good choices – like the black high boots, they are worth keeping. And because I like variety in my outfits I chose a pair of trendy sugar almond colored boots with an oversized long dark grey sweater. Sugar almond color is one of the top colors for the fall/winter 2019 – it is a sweet, smoky shade of brown, but lighter. It’s mixed with other tones of warmth that gives it an appetising and sweet appearance, in a fashion way.

Adding some winter white

It is still winter but I’m looking so much forward to spring that when adding some winter white to my wardrobe I choose not only winter clothes (like a thick sweater and a cap), but also a short skirt and over-knee socks which would be more suited for a warmer season.

But before taking the challenge of wearing white, you should know that winter white is rarely pure white because of the wool material. It’s often closer to ivory or even slightly grayed out white, like ecru. But do you know – it’s worth it – take the challenge to wear white in your winter outfits, that way you will brighten up the gray cold days.
