June mood

Although it’s already mid-June – it’s incredible how with the whole pandemic situation time flew by and it’s already June – the weather in Vienna is not really warm yet, but rather unstable. That’s why I am very unsure if the day calls for a summer outfit, or maybe rather not.

Still, for me, the beginning of June marks the start of the summer, therefore I am completely in the appropriate spirit – short pants, fancy tops, summer dresses, sandals, flip flops, bikinis, pool time and of course the sea. But this summer for me is a bit special – as we are moving to a new house, there will be only pool time at home, no travel to the seaside like every year. That doesn’t bring me down, on the contrary – I will always find time to travel, but moving into one’s own new house does not happen that often. I’m extremely happy that the house of dreams of my family is now a fact.

In that line of thought, my outfit today is with black shorts from Zara – I like all kinds of shorts – be it formal or fancy, because they are comfortable and easy to combine with other stuff. The top piece is from ALCOTT – once more in my favourite pink, but with long sleeves because of the changing weather. The look is completed by the accessories – a cute black Valentino bag and summer shoes from Humanic, in a fashionway.

A cardigan is always a loved piece

As the weather in may still varies a lot, a light cardigan is always a good piece to have around. But being very comfortable, a cardigan can also be very tricky and can easily ruin our outfit – that’s why you should know how to wear it without looking funny and frumpy.

The first thing is to figure out the style and length of the cardigan that fits best your body type. As with everything else about fashion, women’s bodes are different, so certain styles would be more flattering on some than others. That’s why you should learn what works best for your own body.

And it’s good to wear form-fitting clothes underneath a cardigan, or tight or belted dresses. Especially if the cardigan is a bit slouchy, you have to make sure the silhouette underneath it is form-fitting, otherwise you might look larger than you are.

The next thing to pay attention to is the fit of the arms – my favourites are the ones that have skinnier arms and feel the most slimming.

Also, feel free to show some skin – especially when most of the rest of your body is covered up. It’s more about what you put under your cardigan than the style of the cardigan itself. For example – if you combine with a turtleneck top – choose a sleeveless one, with open shoulders or collar bones. If you wear a normal shirt don’t cover the neckline with a scarf – show some skin instead.

In all that you should still pay attention to the current trends – right now, open cardigans are pretty hot – with holes, semi-transparent and with a different length on both sides.

I chose a holed pale pink cardigan, matched it with a black sleeveless turtleneck top underneath and skinny jeans. Of course, I can’t miss the accessories because they complete the outfit – a long necklace and earrings with a matching bracelet, sunglasses and a bag and shoes with the same colors and details.

White and cream colored

I love wearing shades of white and cream color no matter the season and especially now to bust out in the winter… to really lighten things up.

White coats look great in all cuts and styles and because this season belongs to teddy coats I choose again one of them in white.

Why pick a white coat? Because it looks glamorous and refined, rich and sophisticated. There is something about a white coat, an all-white look in the cold season or a classic white coat on top of any colored outfit – it screams impeccable style.

But how to wear a white coat without feeling like polar bear? Some black accessories like a black bag, sunglasses or tights as accents and funky gloves always works so fabulous with a white coat. Very trendy and chic.

Here I’m sharing one of my favorite winter white cream outfit – a MONKI coat, cardigan, skirt and sweater, a pair of white Fila sneakers, Calzedonia tights and a Christian Dior bag.

Lake Millstatt – where mountain and lake dreams come true

Lake Millstatt – a place that I have visited so many times and a place where I can switch off and just chill. It is a dream location where the snowy Alps meets the calm deep waters of the lake – a sight to marvel both in summer and in winter.

Coincidently being the first place to visit in this new year, I take it’s beauty as a way to charge myself for all the things I plan to achieve in the next months.

To match the surrounding Alps, my outfit today is in a light mountain style – a winter ALCOTT sweater with mountain details, a matching jacket, Calzedonia leggings, lovely red winter ALCOTT socks, Tanca booties and bag and trendy black sunglasses.

From Wikipedia

It is situated at 588 metres above the Adriatic (1,929 ft), north of the Drava Valley within the Gurktal Alps (Nock Mountains) range of the Central Eastern Alps, near the town of Spittal an der Drau. With a surface area of 13.3 km2 (5.1 sq mi) Lake Millstatt is the second largest lake of Carinthia (after Lake Wörth), though with a depth of 142 m (466 ft) the most voluminous by far.

Its steep shore gives the lake a fjord-like character. The Millstätter Alpe mountains in the north up to 2,100 m (6,900 ft) protect it from cold winds, so the water temperature can reach 25 °C (77 °F) in summer. The narrow and long surface stretches over 12 km (7.5 mi) from east to west. In the south the wooded Hochgosch plateau, with a breadth of 2 km (1.2 mi) and an elevation of 876 m (2,874 ft), divides the lake from the parallel Drava Valley.

The name derives from the market town Millstatt on the northern shore. Other municipalities near the lake are Seeboden and Radenthein-Döbriach. The shaded southern shore, a protected area since 1970, is almost uninhabited.

Casual glam with guacamole green

There are two shades of green trending in this Fall 2019’s fashion colors, very different from each other – guacamole and eden. Guacamole is my favorite and it is considered one of the „Classics“ this season, being called „nutrient-enriched“ green. Eden on the other hand is a forest green.

Moreover, guacamole green is great if you wish to be bold on color this season because it’s tasteful, soul-calming and very refreshing. It’s somehow intriguing and untypical. Certainly a color to make you stand out.

I found my best matching part for outfits at CALZEDONIA – a pair of glam leggings. And as I currently tend to stick to the oversized sweaters and blousons here I combine it with a long yellow one from Pimkie. Here I find the black accessories a perfekt match – they include shoes by Zara and a Tally WEiJL belly bag. Meanwhile the belly bags are not only in trend byt they are also comfortable and can be eye-catching in a fashionway.

Fashion is a point of view

I have always thought that it’s important to have a clear point for view of my fashion style and although my style follows the general fashion trends, i always also listen to my inner vioce and stick to my own feelings for each outfit. For me fashion does not mean to have the same handbag or pair of heels like everyone else is wearing. I love it when I see an original piece, something that’s not all over the media.

I very often pick clothes that I feel are most relevant to me, no matter the brand. I do like the famous designers and brands, but I don’t think that the exclusive and expensive is always the best. Because, as a friend of mine said recently, you can look fabulous even if you put on a potatoe sack for an outfit, as long as you wear it well, in a fashion way.

So, to make your personal fashion point of view, you have to find your own specific taste and present it in your own unique way.

In this post I wear one of my favorites color combos – black and white. For me this match follows no season and never leaves the fashion scene.

A classy fabulous orchid dress

We are always on the go, and often it’s hard to keep up with the latest looks and trends. But a fairy, thin, floral dress is an option just waiting to jump into your closet. This Kiara Fashion dress is the look that will take you from blah to bold, to classy and fabulous.
With such a dress you can find the right way to rock your personal style with class. I’m not a fan of glaring outfits, but this one in particular hits the sweet spot between being too chic and simple. I always liked Orchids and this dress warmed my heart, in a fashion way

Still trying to gather some summer feeling

As the summer nears its end we start to miss the sunny days. But don’t regret it because it’s over, smile, as this is how the world works – a new season with it’s new opportunities is coming.

And most importantly try to be happy, because „People don’t notice whether it’s winter or summer when they’re happy.“ — Anton Chekhov

I am trying to do the same by enjoying the sunny days, still dressed with my summer clothes, wearing this beautiful Intimissimi body. It is one of my absolutely favorites, matches almost everything, even with a blazer in the autumn.

Not dreaming of the 100k, but following my dreams

Years ago my view about the purpose of my life and work left me feeling hungry for a fresh start. I was ready for a little effervescence and so I followed the passion that I ever wanted to – the fashion.

So, now, after many years working in the fashion world I finally found my real place… Nowadays I‘m no longer dreaming of those „100k“ (or more) likes, I just want to keep presenting you my fashion views and ideas, trying to be of as much help as possible, of course always in fashion way ?. But don’t forget – most important thing is – learn, collect ideas, follow others but always stay true to you and be yourself.

Say yes to the fruits

Fruit prints are very popular this season, so today I’m going to talk about incorporating them into your outfits. The most common patterns you are seeing this summer are the citrus ones! Lemons, oranges and limes are making their way onto dresses, tops, and accessories.

You can pair very easily a fruit print top with shorts or skirt and feel casual enough to be comfortable yet at the same time stylish.

But the trick to making fruit prints look chic and not overdone is keeping the rest of your outfit less busy. For example, when trying to pair one of your fruit-emblazoned pieces with a pair of shorts, jeans, skirt or capris choose them in one color and a maximum of  two appropriate colors for the accessories. And no matter high heels, flats or wedges try to feel comfortable and in a fashion way!

My favorite fruit piece this summer is a fruit top, what is yours?
